Attention Applicants Currently Approved for the Florida Laws & Rules Exam for Psychologists

During the month of September, the Department of Health will transition the State Laws & Rules Exam from Prometric, Inc., to a new exam provider, Professional Testing Services, Inc. Professional Testing Service will deliver the exam through a new exam vendor, PearsonVue.

Any applicants currently approved by the Board to sit for the State Laws & Rules examination, who have not scheduled to sit for the exam by September 4, 2015, will automatically be transferred to PearsonVue. Soon thereafter, PearsonVue will provide all transferred candidates with additional information about scheduling the exam.

Applicants receiving approval for the exam after September 3, 2015 will automatically be submitted to PearsonVue, but will not be eligible to schedule the exam until receiving notification that registration has opened.

Important Transition Dates:
Current System: Testing at Prometric centers ends September 14, 2015
Final Date to Schedule with Prometric: September 4, 2015
New System: Testing at Pearson VUE centers begins September 15, 2015

New Exam Fee & Payment Method:
The previous cost for the exam included an $85 fee payable to the Department as well as a $53 fee payable to Prometric for a total fee of $138. With this change, the fee has been reduced to $115 and is to be paid directly to PearsonVue at the time of registration.

Applicants who have already submitted the $85 fee with their application will receive a refund request form from the Board Office. Please allow 2 to 4 weeks, after submitting your request, to receive payment from the Department of Health.
